RIS · RCX Code

The official consumer software that shipped with the RCX Robotics Invention System (Windows). You build programs by dragging puzzle-piece blocks ("RCX Code") that snap into a stack; the PC compiles them to RCX bytecode and downloads over the IR tower (RCX IR protocol).

• Beginner-oriented and limited vs text languages — most serious users moved to NQC.
• Underneath sits LEGO's Spirit.ocx COM automation control (the ActiveX layer NQC-era tools could also drive).
